Drifts and fragments in the production of memory
19 Sep. 2025 - 17 Jan. 2026
Mnemosyne is a photographic installation curated by Eva del Llano and organized by The José Luis Soler Collection and PHotoESPAÑA. Inspired by Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas, the project explores memory as montage and drift. The works of Ferran García Sevilla, Hamish Fulton, Jonas Mekas, Takuma Nakahira, and Iñaki Bonillas invite the viewer into a journey where memory is not transmitted, but activated—an experience reconstructed by each visitor from their own present.
The José Luis Soler Room opens its programming with this installation.
José Luis Soler Gallery
Located to the left of the entrance to the Bombas Gens Cultural Center, the José Luis Soler Room is a clean, open 148 m2 space designed to host photography exhibitions drawn from The José Luis Soler Collection and awarded the curatorial prize that bears his name.
The Bombas Gens Cultural Center retains the name of the former factory that once occupied the site, following the wishes of José Luis Soler and Susana Lloret, as a tribute to Carlos Gens, an entrepreneur known for his values and sensitivity.
History repeats itself. The room, the curatorial prize, and the photography collection all bear this name at the wish of his wife, in honor of José Luis Soler: a visionary, sensitive, and deeply committed entrepreneur.

Mnemosyne. Drifts and fragments in memory production
Mnemosyne is a photographic installation curated by Eva del Llano, organized by The José Luis Soler Collection and PHotoESPAÑA.
Inspired by the Atlas Mnemosyne by Aby Warburg, the project explores memory as montage and drift. The works of Ferran García Sevilla, Hamish Fulton, Jonas Mekas, Takuma Nakahira e Iñaki Bonillas invite to a visual and corporal journey, where memory is not transmitted, but activated. Fragmented, dispersed and open, it becomes a sensitive and plural experience, which the spectator reconstructs from his own present.
