Bleda and Rosa

Spain–Germany, 1969/1970

María Bleda (Spain, 1969) and José María Rosa (Albacete, 1970) form the artistic duo Bleda y Rosa. Their work explores the relationship between image, place and memory. Through the representation of the territory, they have developed their own language that combines the visual and the textual. Their work has received numerous awards such as the National Photography Award in 2008, and is part of important collections such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid or the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporáneo in Santiago de Compostela, among others.

Organized in five different folders: Trafalgar, Madrid, Gerona, Cádiz, Vitoria; it addresses popular uprisings and struggles for freedom and equality, reflecting on the construction and meaning of history.
