Paul Facchetti

Italy–France, 1912–2010

Paul Facchetti (Italy, 1912-France, 2010) was a key photographer and gallery owner in the diffusion of abstract art in post-war Paris. In 1951 he founded the Galerie Facchetti, one of the first to exhibit artists of informalism and European and American abstract expressionism. As a photographer he developed an experimental work using techniques such as solarization, blurring and multiple exposures. His work is part of the collection of museums such as the Pompidou Center in Paris.
