Noritoshi Hirakawa | 2012

Explores the interaction between the human body and the architecture of the Casa Estudio Luis Barragán in Mexico City. It integrates dancers into the structure of the building, using dance as a means to visualize the relationship between space and the human being.

Japan, 1960

Noritoshi Hirakawa (Japan, 1960) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work combines photography, installation and performance. Throughout his career he has critically and provocatively addressed issues such as desire, intimacy, masculinity and power structures in contemporary societies. His photographs pose a reflection on the male gaze and the cultural limits of the body and representation. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, PS1 MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, among others.
