Documents life on the iconic Beverly Hills avenue in the early 1980s. With a seemingly dispassionate gaze, it captures passersby shrouded in luxury, subtly revealing the social tensions, economic disparity and racial divide of the era. He turns this iconic space into a stage where the complexity of urban dynamics and the contrasts of the American dream become evident.

Anthony Hernandez (USA, 1947) is an American photographer known for his images of urban spaces in Los Angeles. He has worked in both black and white and color, documenting the human figure, the landscape and the abstraction of details. His work projects a committed look at contemporary social issues. His work is part of the collection of museums such as MoMA in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.
