José Dávila | 2011

He explores the interactions between architectural space and visual perception. Through compositions that challenge the conventions of architecture and art, he questions the limits of spaces and reflects on their construction and how it influences our experience of the environment.

Mexico, 1974

José Dávila (Mexico, 1974) is a multidisciplinary Mexican artist known for his sculptural and photographic work that draws on the symbolic languages of art history and Western visual culture. His work uses the appropriation and recontextualization of modern art icons to study the way we recognize and relate to each other visually.
His work has been exhibited internationally and is part of the collection of important museums such as the Pompidou Center in Paris, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid.
